Emmys: Uzo Aduba, Cat Deeley Announce and Celebrate Their Shows' Nominations

Sure, it was still an early West Coast rise and shine time for Emmy nomination announcers Uzo Aduba and Cat Deeley, but they were rewarded with nominations of their own, both for their series and their individual performances.

Both stars broke into giant smiles and celebrated with laughter and high fives for each other as Aduba’s Orange Is the New Black and the Deeley-hosted So You Think You Can Dance received nominations for Outstanding Drama Series and Outstanding Reality-Competition Series, respectively.

Aduba, last year’s Emmy winner for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series, was visibly surprised when Television Academy chairman and CEO Bruce Rosenblum told her she was a nominee again — this time in the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series category for Season 2 of OITNB. And she and Deeley high-fived and hugged again when Rosenblum told Deeley that she is nominated as Outstanding Host for a Reality or Reality-Competition Program. Actually, as is most appropriate given her series, Deeley even did a little dance when she was told about her fifth consecutive nomination in the category. Here’s hoping the fifth time is a charm for the host, who has so far gone home empty-handed.

The 67th Emmy Awards, hosted by Andy Samberg, air Sept. 20 at 8 p.m. on Fox.
