Ellen Obsesses Over Mark Wahlberg's Mystery Dinner Guest, Who Was Most Likely Justin Bieber
On Thursday, Patriots Day star Mark Wahlberg told Ellen about the time his 13-year-old daughter wouldn’t put the phone away at dinnertime. But there was one narrative detail Ellen got really hung up on.
Wahlberg explained that a “very successful friend” had come over, someone his daughter had been a big fan of, but that she’d been on a music app the whole time. When pressed to name the character at the center of this tale of intrigue, though, Wahlberg wasn’t telling. “It’s a young man … and he’s a very nice young man. Canadian fellow.”
That seemed to be all the audience needed to hear before deducing the identity of the fellow as one Justin Drew Bieber, he of the formerly mop-headed haircut. “She liked him a lot, when she was younger,” Wahlberg further teased. “Turned on him.” “A lot of people did,” Ellen remarked. “And then [he] came back with a vengeance,” Wahlberg added. “‘Dad, that’s gonna be my husband,'” he said, imitating his daughter. “I said, ‘Over my dead body. Actually, over both your dead bodies, I’ll just go back to jail.'”
