Ellen DeGeneres Picked Adam Levine’s Daughter’s Name — ‘Dusty Rose’

Maroon 5 singer, Voice judge, mustache-sportin’, ripped-jeans-wearin’ Adam Levine was on Ellen and talked about how he and wife Behati Prinsloo came to decide on the name of their 6-week-old daughter, Dusty Rose. It turns out that he was running name options by none other than Ellen DeGeneres herself.

“We had a name,” Levine told the audience. “The name game is a tough game. … Imagine you are writing the best song you’ve ever written and you have to name it. It’s really screwed up that you have to put yourself through that. So, I’m going through it and I think I have a great name and I texted Ellen and she’s like, ‘I hate it. I think it’s a terrible name.’”

“She gave me, like, five names to think about … [and] Dusty was in there,” he pointed out. “So you basically named my kid.” “I did name your kid,” DeGeneres agreed. “I ran it by my wife and she was, like, ‘I don’t like it,’” admitted Levine. “I brought it back in the 11th hour and was like, ‘Dusty is pretty cool,’ and she’s, like, ‘I love it.’”
