Animal Planet's 'Dr. Jeff: Rocky Mountain Vet' Is Not for the Faint of Heart

If you’ve ever wondered what happens after you drop your pet off at the vet, you can find out in Animal Planet’s new 10-part series Dr. Jeff: Rocky Mountain Vet.

Premiering July 11, it takes viewers inside Dr. Jeff Young’s Denver clinic, Planned Pethood Plus. With Dr. Jeff’s more than 25 years of experience, a staff of 30-plus employees, and their shared commitment to providing high-quality, low-cost animal care, it’s one of the busiest veterinary clinics in the country. There are scheduled appointments and a continuous flow of emergencies — with anywhere from 30 to 60 surgeries a day. Warning: Not every visit will have a happy ending, despite the staff’s best efforts and obvious empathy.

In the clip above, a dog named Pinon appears to have something lodged in its intestines.

In the clip below, Dr. Jeff performs routine surgery on a cat named Soy Latte, who dislocated its hip. A hammer and a chisel are involved.

Both Soy Latte and Pinon do get to go home to their concerned owners.

Dr. Jeff: Rocky Mountain Vet premieres Saturday, July 11 at 10 p.m. on Animal Planet.
