Donald Trump Should Pick His VP ‘Celebrity Apprentice’ Style, Jimmy Kimmel Says

After talking about him almost every night in his opening monologue, Jimmy Kimmel had Donald Trump on as his guest again Wednesday.

During the jovial interview, Kimmel suggested that the GOP candidate return to his reality TV roots and pick his vice president just as he did on “Celebrity Apprentice.”

“Why don’t you get these guys all in a room and then each week — it would be the highest rated show in television — you eliminate one person and then they go back to wherever the hell they came from?” he suggested.

“This is why I would be your best vice president!” the late-night host pledged, reveling in his great idea.

While Trump’s running mate has been hotly debated, Kimmel kicked off his own V.P. campaign last week.

They say it takes a village to raise a child, but apparently it takes a whole team of Trump supporters to come up with the nasty nicknames for his opponents, such as “Lying Ted, Crazy Bernie, Crooked Hillary,” as revealed later in the light-hearted banter.

“The team is right there,” Trump told Kimmel during his visit on Wednesday.

Kimmel opened the show with his usual brand of dry humor, telling the audience: “Tonight, those of you watching at home will have the rare opportunity to see Donald Trump on television.

“Trump is here in Hollywood, and I thought this was interesting, he has promised to make Hollywood Boulevard great again, by building a wall around Bill Cosby‘s star on the Walk of Fame. And Guillermo is gonna pay for it!”

Not everyone thought that Trump’s appearance on the ABC late-night show was funny, however, as R&B singer The Weeknd and rapper Belly both canceled their scheduled performance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” to protest the Republican candidate’s prior remarks about race.

“I feel like the way I was raised was to be able to see through all the titles in this world — from religion to race,” Belly said in a statement, according to the Associated Press. “I just didn’t want to feel like I was a part of a celebration for somebody who has beliefs that majority of us don’t agree with.”

A representative for “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” told TheWrap that the show had no comment on the matter.

A number of Trump protesters were also spotted on Hollywood Blvd., near Kimmel’s studio, before the taping at around 4 p.m. PT.

Earlier Wednesday, minor violence erupted at Trump’s rally near Disneyland in Anaheim, California, as pro- and anti-Trump groups threw verbal abuse at each other and police began arresting some protesters.

One trash can was set on fire, some protesters threw rocks, and large throngs of police tried to push the remaining demonstrators away, according to the Los Angeles Times.

At least seven adults and one juvenile were arrested over the course of the day, with many taken into custody after police declared an unlawful assembly.
