Donald Trump Passes On Megyn Kelly Town Hall With GOP Candidates

Updated with additional information: Fox News Channel just announced that Megyn Kelly will host a two-hour “voter summit” in Houston on Wednesday in which she will put questions to remaining GOP candidates the night after the Nevada caucus and ahead of Super Tuesday.

Guess which GOP candidate won’t appear in the special edition of The Kelly File on Wednesday at 9 PM ET, according to the network?

Candidates who are confirmed to participate in The Kelly File: Face to Face with Candidates include, Dr. Ben Carson, Sen. Ted Cruz, Gov. John Kasich — who will join by remote while his campaign will be stationed in New Orleans — and Sen. Marco Rubio, who also will appear via satellite, FNC said. Trump’s campaign cited scheduling conflict, due to engagements in Virginia and New York, and said in a statement he’s looking forward to participating in the March FNC GOP debate in Detroit. And, he’s been booked on FNC’s Hannity tonight for the full hour.

Kelly will question the other four GOP White House hopeful individually, and a selection of Texas voters will be able to pose questions to the candidates onstage with Kelly.

Trump declined to participate in FNC’s GOP debate in January because Kelly was again one of the moderators, explaining: “I have zero respect for Megyn Kelly. I don’t think she’s very good at what she does. She’s highly overrated.” He has since said that move might have contributed to his second-place finish in Iowa caucusing, behind Ted Cruz.
