Donald Trump Gloats Miss Universe Debacle Wouldn’t Happen Under His Watch

Donald Trump gloated on Monday that the Miss Universe debacle that saw the wrong beauty crowned as the winner on Sunday would’ve never happened if he was still running the contest.

“Very sad what happened last night at the Miss Universe Pageant. I sold it 6 months ago for a record price. This would never have happened!” the GOP frontrunner tweeted.

On the “Today” show on Monday, the Donald proposed making winner Miss Philippines and runner up Miss Colombia, who was mistakenly named winner, co-winners.

“I’ll tell you what I think I’d do. I think I’d make ‘em a co-winner. It’d be very cool,” Trump said. “I would recommend that they go have a beautiful ceremony, which is good for the brand and good for Miss Universe, and do a co-winner.”

Trump called host Steve Harvey a “great guy” despite his giant error naming the wrong winner.
