Dolly Parton’s Christmas of Many Colors: Circle of Love is described as the next chapter in the life of young Dolly Parton.

The film delivers Christmas joy and peril as an unexpected blizzard threatens the Parton family, while at the same time Dolly’s father (and his kids) make sacrifices to raise enough money to finally buy his loving wife the wedding ring he could never afford to give her. Meanwhile, an important person in little Dolly’s life begins to see that her amazing voice and musical gift might just be made for something bigger than rural Tennessee.

Alyvia Alyn Lind returns as young Dolly. Also back: Jennifer Nettles as Dolly’s mother, Avie Lee Parton; Ricky Schroder as Dolly’s father, Robert Lee Parton; and Gerald McRaney as Dolly’s grandfather, the Rev. Jake Owens.

More casting and a premiere date are still to come.

Dolly Parton’s Coat of Many Colors is now on DVD. “It has brought families together, and it’s made people’s faith a little stronger. It’s like, ‘Oh great, I’m glad you talked about God. I’m glad you talked about your faith.’ I think that it really was meaningful to a lot of people,” Parton recently told Yahoo TV. “I miss that type of stuff on TV myself, like The Waltons and Little House on the Prairie and those sorts of things. I wondered if there was a market for it, and evidently there still is.”
