Demi Lovato Was Just as Confused by the MTV VMAs as You Were
If you were watching MTV’s Video Music Awards from home on Sunday night and had no idea what was going on, don’t worry. Demi Lovato attended the VMAs in person and her takeaway was also: “What the f–k happened?”

Actually, the ceremony made sense to the singer/actress while she was inside the Microsoft Theater, where all the Miley Cyrus-hosted craziness was going down. But later, watching the rest of it at home with her good pal, Iggy (as in Azalea), Lovato was left as baffled as us civilians by such inexplicable incidents as the Nicki/Miley feud and Kanye West’s lengthy speech. “Iggy and I were watching and were like, ‘What is he talking about?’” she told Jimmy Kimmel. “Honestly, what is he talking about? And you could tell about halfway through his edibles kicked in… or whatever he was smoking.”
One thing that Lovato did understand was why Justin Bieber let loose a few tears after his set. “If you were Justin Bieber for that many years, you might celebrate when people booed you for so long, and then they cheered,” she said. Unlike the VMAs, that makes sense to us, too.
