'Deadliest Catch' Sneak Peek: Monster Wave Slams the Northwestern as Typhoon Hits

It’s the hour Deadliest Catch fans have been waiting for: Typhoon Nuri arrives in Tuesday’s episode.

In the exclusive clip above (which, warning, may cause nausea), Capt. Sig Hansen and his crew on the Northwestern race to haul their pots so they can get out of the storm’s path.

“This weather is different. They’re bigger waves, they’re startin’ to stack up,” Sig says. “In this stuff, it just makes everything twice as hard and twice as miserable… You don’t know how far apart they’re spread, how close they are… That’s scary when you think about it.”

The sneak peek shows one of the most disturbing images in the Discovery series’ 11 seasons — a wave slamming into the wheelhouse and across the deck as Sig yells for his crew to watch out.

We know Sig and deckhand Jake Anderson weather the storm, which continues raging into next week’s episode, because they recently stopped by Yahoo TV to relive some of the show’s other memorable moments (watch them play “Who Said It?” below) and tried to put their typhoon experience into words.

“The boat feels like a tin can,” Hansen said.

“If it looks bad on camera, you know it’s three or four times that when you’re out there lookin’ at it yourself,” Anderson added. “It’s like a horror movie.”

Deadliest Catch airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. on Discovery.
