'DC's Legends of Tomorrow' Trailer Features Lasers, Six Shooters, and Bellbottoms

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow finally has a premiere date, Jan. 21, and a new trailer where, at long last, we get a look at the full lineup of Legends. From London 2166 to ancient Egypt, this show will definitely be getting around in both time and space.

The time-traveling Rip Hunter has assembled the elite Legends team: Captain Cold, Heat Wave, Hawkman, Hawkgirl, The Atom, Martin Stein and Jax Jackson as Firestorm, and White Canary. Early trailers for the spinoff were missing a few key components of the show. White Canary and Jax Jackson were held back so we could see their stories unfold on the current seasons of Arrow and The Flash, and we now know that Hawkman is a series regular. He and Hawkgirl have been soulmates for thousands of years, reincarnating and reuniting throughout history, but this time she doesn’t remember, which is an interesting way to freshen up the old will they/won’t they dynamic.

There are some intriguing hints of the wider DC world (or is it worlds?) in this trailer, too. Hunter talks about “men of steel” and “dark knights.” The official stance has always been that the Arrowverse (which encompasses Arrow, The Flash, and Legends) are completely separate — which explains why nobody in Star City has noticed that Green Arrow is basically Batman with much better abs. But Hunter’s ship obviously has given him glimpses of other worlds, perhaps even ones where Ezra Miller is a speedster?

In addition to distant futures and pasts, it also looks like the Legends will be visiting the Old West and St. Roch in 1975. The latter is where Heat Wave can be seen gleefully growling, “I love the '70s” like a 'roided up VH1 talking head. It’s also the homebase of the comic book version of Hawkman and Hawkgirl.

Notice anything else in this trailer? Do you think the emerald and flash of green at the 1:40 mark might be a hint that we’ll finally meet Green Lantern? Let us know below.
