'Days of Our Lives' 50th Anniversary Gift: Bo and Patch Are Back!

One is the most famous eye-patched hero in daytime history, and the other is half of one of soapland’s most loved supercouples. As part of the lead-up to Days of Our Lives’s 50th anniversary celebration in November, show alums Stephen Nichols and Peter Reckell are returning to the series, and Yahoo TV has the first look at Patch and Bo back together on the DOOL set.

The actors are currently filming their episodes, with Nichols, last seen on the show in 2009, set to reappear at the end of August, and Reckell, who was last seen on DOOL in 2012, returning early in September. And yes, the friends and former brothers-in-law will share scenes together.

DOOL, which celebrates its 50th birthday on Nov. 8 as the co-winner of the 2015 Outstanding Drama Series Daytime Emmy, will welcome back the actors for seven episodes, which, Nichols revealed on Twitter, he and Reckell filmed in two days.

Reckell teased his return for fans with a tweeted photo of his name on his Days dressing room door.

As for what the fellas will be up to during their return to Salem, both Beauregard Aurelius Brady and Steven “Patch” Johnson are single men — Bo divorced from Hope, and Patch divorced from Bo’s sister, Kayla.

But we’re betting each of the soap hunks will spend at least a bit of screen time with their exes during the days of their lives on Days of Our Lives.
