Four years after bidding Days of Our Lives adieu, Alison Sweeney is booking a trip back to Salem — and she isn’t packing lightly.

Sweeney, who played the occasionally villainous Sami Brady/DiMera from 1993 to 2014, is returning to the fold for an extended visit, Soap Opera Digest reports.

“From my end, it takes a little bit of logistics with projects I’m working on,” she tells the magazine. “And unfortunately, this year’s been hard for me because of my knee injury, so I had to push some stuff back. So, I figured out a schedule, blocked out some time that I had available and we figured it out! I’ll be shooting in Salem in May and June.”

In addition to her 21-year gig on Days, Sweeney also hosted NBC’s The Biggest Loser for 13 seasons. She announced her departure in 2015.

Sweeney briefly reprised the role of Sami for a bit on HBO’s Last Week Tonight With John Oliver in Sept. 2015; she and James Scott filmed a special reunion video for a 16-year-old Syrian refugee who said she learned English by watching Days of Our Lives.

Are you excited to see Sami back in Salem? What loose ends are you hoping she’ll tie up? (Or, for the sake of keeping things interesting, what new trouble should she stir up?) Whatever’s on your mind, drop it in a comment below.
