'Twin Peaks' Cast Creates Video Pleading for the Return of David Lynch

David Lynch walked away from Showtime’s attempt at creating new episodes of Twin Peaks over what he described as budget issues, while claiming that the show may still go on without him. It’s an idea that hasn’t been greeted warmly by fans, and now the cast of Twin Peaks itself has released a video making the case for his involvement.
The video was posted on Madchen Amick’s Whosay page, as well as the “official Twin Peaks cast run site” on Facebook. The embedded YouTube upload of the video helpfully lists the participants:
1st Actor is Sheryl Lee, playing Laura Palmer & Maddy Ferguson, 2nd is Dana Ashbrook — playing Bobby Briggs, 3rd actor is Sherilyn Fenn who was playing Audrey Horne (guess she is with her son); 4th is Mädchen Amick (Shelly Johnson), 5th is Peggy Lipton (Norma Jennings), 6th James Marshall (James Hurley), 7th Kimmy Robertson (Lucy Moran), 8th Gary Hershberger (Mike Nelson), 9th Catherine E. Coulson (The Log Lady), 10th — Wendy Robie (Nadine Hurley) 11th Al Strobel (MIKE), 12th is Jennifer Chambers Lynch, who wrote the book “The Secret Diary of Laura Palmer”, she is also the daughter of David Lynch.
It seems a bit reckless for Showtime to have announced the show without locking down Lynch’s contract, and it’s possible his departure from the project and subsequent support from the cast is a negotiating tactic.
“Showtime did not pull the plug on Twin Peaks,” Lynch said in a statement. “After one year and four months of negotiations, I left because not enough money was offered to do the script the way I felt it needed to be done.”
He stated he would call the actors to let them know he wouldn’t be directing. This is apparently their response.
