‘Dateline’ Correspondent Keith Morrison Gains Extra Duties At Investigation Discovery

NBC News’ Keith Morrison (above, left) will join cable network Investigation Discovery as host of both “Dateline on I.D.” and “Front Page” while continuing his role as a correspondent on the long-running NBC newsmagazine “Dateline,” the Discovery Communications-owned cable network announced Monday.

Both of the I.D. series are produced by Peacock Productions, the non-fiction production arm of NBC News.

Morrison, a regular correspondent on “Dateline” since 1995, is to appear on new episodes of “Dateline On I.D.’ starting in January and will appear on “Front Page” specials throughout 2016.

“Front Page” covers a major case making headlines, within just weeks of the initial incident or arrest. These quick turn-around documentaries, or “instamentaries,” feature interviews with people closely associated with the case and expert commentary from ID’s roster of experts spanning criminal profiling, criminal psychology, investigative journalism, legal analysis, forensic science and police investigation. Each one-hour episode of “Dateline on I.D” goes behind the headlines to meet the detectives, the suspects, the victims, or their families whose lives were upended by a single devastating event.

“I’m very much looking forward to the opportunity to continue telling the harrowing stories of crime and the pursuit of justice,” said Morrison, in a statement. “By shining a light on these cases, we are able to tackle topics of broader importance to our society.”
