Daniel Radcliffe Says It's 'Pretty Undeniable' That Hollywood Is Racist, Slams Donald Trump

Daniel Radcliffe thinks the film industry has a lot of work to do when it comes to equality.

The 27-year-old actor recently sat down with the BBC to talk about his role in Imperium, in which he plays an FBI agent who goes undercover as a racist skinhead to infiltrate a group of white supremacists suspected of planning a terror attack. When asked if he thought Hollywood was racist, Radcliffe didn't hold back.

"I think it's pretty undeniable," the former Harry Potter star said. "We like to think of ourselves as being a very, very progressive industry, but we have been lagging behind in all kinds of areas."

Radcliffe also talked U.S. politics during the candid interview, and slammed Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump.

"It's fascinating and terrifying, and there's part of me that just kind of can't believe that this unbelievably wealthy, privileged man has somehow managed to convince people he's not part of the elite, and that he's a man of the people," Radcliffe said.

This isn't the first time the British actor has criticized Trump. In June, he revealed that he got some advice from the controversial businessman back when he was promoting Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, when they both had scheduled appearances on the Today show.

"They marched me over to him, and I remember having some idea of who he was but not really a full concept," Radcliffe recalled to host Seth Meyers during his appearance on Late Night, adding that he admitted to the mogul backstage that he was nervous about his TV interview. "He just said, 'You just tell them you met Mr. Trump.'"

"To this day, I can't even relate to that level of confidence," Radcliffe quipped. "Imagine if I said, 'Oh, just talk about me during your interview.' Like, I'm interesting enough to be everyone's story."
