‘Daily Show’ Encourages You to #CruzYourOwnAdventure

The staff at The Daily Show attempted to mine through all 13 hours of awkward raw footage posted online for some unknown reason by Sen. Ted Cruz’s presidential campaign. We say “attempted” because Trevor Noah admits they just couldn’t get through it all (it’s really awkward!). It seemed like the only way to make sense of it would be to put it into a more palatable context, so they took some prime moments between Cruz and his helpful, if unprepared, family and repurposed them to make a scary movie trailer for a fictitious yet still terrifying “film” called Cruz Control and the opening credits to a sitcom à la Full House called Senator Dad. The host encouraged viewers to grab some footage themselves and “be creative,” and favorites will be aired on an upcoming show.

The Daily Show airs weeknights at 11 p.m. on Comedy Central.
