Good news and bad news over at The CW on Friday: Ringer and The Secret Circle have been canceled, while Nikita, Gossip Girl and Hart of Dixie have been renewed.

Ringer's cancellation comes as no surprise with a freshman season that drew anemic ratings. The Secret Circle was also down in its finale, drawing just 1.2 million viewers on Thursday night.

Fall TV Scorecard: Which shows are returning? Which aren't?

Nikita's renewal was a surprise since the series has been flailing this season, and was down to 1.22 million viewers for last week's episode. CW will likely place freshman series Hart of Dixie in the void left by One Tree Hill, which ended its nine-season run in April.

Gossip Girl will return for a shortened final season. TVLine reports that the sixth season will consist of 11 episodes, with co-executive producer Sarah Goodman replacing the departing Josh Safran, who has signed on to showrun NBC's Smash.
