'The Dovekeepers' Star Cote de Pablo Takes Our Easter Candy Challenge

The Dovekeepers, CBS’s two-night adaptation of Alice Hoffman’s 2011 novel of the same name premiering March 31, isn’t a Bible story. But since it airs in the week leading up to Easter Sunday, we asked star Cote de Pablo to take our Easter candy challenge anyway. And she was very game, especially after one of the “this or that” choices we presented her with was a Reese’s Peanut Butter Egg.

We did also talk with her about The Dovekeepers. If you missed that video, watch it below to find out three things that might surprise you about the production — including its sensuality, occasional use of white pigeons, and action sequences.

From executive producers Roma Downey and Mark Burnett, The Dovekeepers is inspired by true events: After the destruction of Jerusalem by the Romans in 70 C.E., 960 Jews sought refuge at Masada, a mountain fortress. The survival story is told from the perspective of three women (de Pablo’s Shirah, Rachel Brosnahan’s Yael, and Kathryn Prescott’s Aziza) whose lives intersect.

De Pablo also answered fans’ Twitter questions about The Dovekeepers and, of course, if there’s still hope for Tiva on NCIS.

The Dovekeepers airs March 31 and April 1 at 9 p.m. on CBS.
