Cookie Monster Shows Off Mad Improv Skills in Apple Ad Outtakes

There’s never been any doubt that Sesame Street star Cookie Monster is a gifted performer, but who knew he was so great at improv, too? Whether he’s pestering the iPhone concierge (“Is it ready yet? How ‘bout now? How ‘bout now? How ‘bout now? How ‘bout now?”), puzzling over “ghost cookies,” or lamenting over his inability to close his eyes, Cookie Monster remains a consummate (and ridiculously entertaining) professional. “Me trooper!” he declares, after getting bumped on the noggin by the slate in between takes. It’s enough to make you want Muppets to star in all Apple commercials. (Seriously, wouldn’t Guy Smiley be a natural at this?)

Sesame Street airs Saturdays at 9 a.m. on HBO.
