Colbert Bids Former Candidates Farewell in ‘Hunger Games’ Spoof

Wednesday’s The Late Show With Stephen Colbert delighted us with a special sketch dedicated to our fallen 2016 presidential candidates. Colbert, dressed as the Hunger Games’ Caesar Flickerman — with a purple wig, purple eyebrows, flashy silver jacket, and glass of champagne — roasted Rand Paul, Mike Huckabee, Jim Gilmore, and Martin O’Malley. His impersonation left the audience rolling with laughter. He referenced Rand Paul’s metaphors, Martin O’Malley’s rock-hard abs, and Mike Huckabee’s sweet burn on himself. He recapped the polls, which revealed that Jim Gilmore got only 12 votes. Literally. 12. Votes.

At the end of the sketch, Colbert gave each candidate a proper farewell Hunger Games-style.
