They say hindsight is 20/20, and no one understands that better than Christina Ricci.
"I'm so glad I'm not 20 years old any more. I was in a hurricane," the Pan Am actress, 32, tells Marie Claire UK's April issue. "I'm a lot calmer now. I don't cause destruction for myself and others everywhere I go."
The ABC star, who called off her engagement to Owen Benjamin when she was 29 in 2009, only recently learned to go with the flow. "I take things as they happen and I've learned to be calm about things," Ricci explains. "Troubleshoot problem as they arise and make the best out of things."
Ricci adds that as someone who grew up in the spotlight, "it took a while for me to be comfortable with who I was, to realize everyone might not get my sense of humor, [that] everyone might not like me."
The actress, who stars opposite Robert Pattinson and Uma Thurman in Bel Ami, promises she's "not going to change who I am" to blend in with her peers.
"I've tried. It doesn't work," says Ricci, who's currently dating dolly grip James Heerdegen. "I've never been very Hollywood."
