On the season premiere of Angie Tribeca, Rashida Jones’s Tribeca needed information on a serial killer who seemed to have a thing for rich white guys. Fresh out of leads, Tribeca knew where to turn: A locked up serial killer who might have information, Dr. Thomas Hornbein (guest star Chris Pine).
Dr. Hornbein bore a striking resemblance to Dr. Hannibal Lecter of Silence of the Lambs, even going so far as to smell “a child” on Tribeca. Before Dr. Hornbein gave Tribeca any information, though, he had a few demands, including being transferred to a Courtyard Marriott with an indoor pool and $670,000 in cash and prizes, “No matter what I bid.”
But more than money, what he really wanted to know about was the screaming of the lambs, or rather, why it’s so hard for Tribeca to let people in. When she revealed it was because she didn’t know who she was, he said that was “super heavy” and that she should probably see a therapist.
Angie Tribeca airs Mondays at 10:30 p.m. on TBS.
