Chris Darden Finally Cops to Being ‘More Than Friends’ With Marcia Clark (Video)

Chris Darden has finally copped to America’s prevailing notion (or, at least, hope) that he and Marcia Clark were “more than friends.”

The O.J. Simpson prosecutor made the admission during a recent interview with “Entertainment Tonight,” and added, “We were inseparable back then.”

Of course, that’s where it gets all lawyer-y and confusing again. When asked point-blank if their relationship became “physical,” Darden laughed it off: “Wow, physical? No, no, no, no.”

“You got me up here giggling like a school girl,” he told the reporter.

She didn’t give up there, however. Asked to describe their relationship in one word, Darden chose “fire.”

He then clarified that “fire” is not “romantic” — “fire is passion.” Whatever that means.

Darden reportedly also told “ET” that he “really can’t remember the details” of his time with Clark during the trial, but insisted the two never kissed.

“I’m not a kisser,” he said. “Kissing is intimate. Kissing is more intimate than sex.”

Darden and Clark were recently portrayed on FX’s “The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story” by Sterling K. Brown and Sarah Paulson, respectively. The hit cable show played up the budding romance between the two, but left what may or may not have actually happened up to interpretation.

Since then, the two real-life attorneys have been fielding questions to fill in those blanks. This interview is the closest we’ve come to what we’re all dying to hear — that the two were romantically involved.

Both Brown and Paulson won Emmys on Sunday for their excellent individual performances. Clearly, the real Darden’s not as good an actor.
