‘CHiPS’ Star Dax Shepard Loves Directing His ‘Annoyingly Talented’ Wife, Kristen Bell
Actors Dax Shepard and Michael Peña stopped by Canadian morning show Breakfast Television to talk about their new movie, CHiPs. Shepard is the writer, director, and star of the film, which also co-stars his wife, Kristen Bell.
Breakfast Television host Dina Pugliese asked Shepard what it’s like to direct his wife and whether he enjoys “being the boss.” Shepherd said that they love working together, and it’s an excuse to “spend 12 hours together and get paid.” Shepherd and Peña had lots of praise for Bell, claiming that her first takes are almost always perfect.
Bell and Shepard are a famously adorable couple, appearing in films and commercials together. Several years ago, a video of Shepard surprising Bell with a sloth went viral, after the actress totally lost it upon seeing the sleepy creature, endearing them both to fans everywhere.
Later on in the show, Pugliese surprised the stars with a Canadian treat that was perfect for their upcoming film.
