Charlie Sheen sat down with Matt Lauer on Today Thursday morning, and the interview started out a bit abruptly to say the least.
"There were people who probably, last year at this time, would have placed a bet that you might not even be around — literally," said Lauer.
Lauer was referring to Sheen's stint in rehab, which led to a production hiatus on Two and a Half Men. Sheen was ultimately fired from the show after he went on an erratic media tour talking about his drug use and bad-mouthing the show's creator Chuck Lorre. As for Lauer's comments, Sheen didn't disagree.
"Yeah, I would support that... sure," he said.
Sheen went on to discuss his current project, the FX sitcom Anger Management, which premieres June 28. "I couldn't have the Two and a Half Men thing be my TV legacy — I couldn't have it end on that note," Sheen said. "So far, eight days (on Anger) was more fun than eight years (at Men)."
