For four of its six seasons, the CBS comedy ranked as TV’s top-rated series, and Lucille Ball’s influence can still be seen in American comedy to this day. This is due in part to the fact that the show was shot on 35mm film stock instead of the typical TV format of kinescope. The quality remains crisp, especially compared to other shows of the day, and reruns of Lucy still air across the world.

Here’s our salute to Lucy, Ricky, Ethel, and Fred with a look at our favorite tributes, homages, and loving parodies of I Love Lucy throughout the years, featuring scenes from a diverse batch of shows including Muppet Babies, My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic, That ‘70s Show, Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, and The Simpsons.
