“Bull,” from CBS Television Studios, is the top new series of the season in total viewers, averaging 17.3 million per episode, according to Nielsen live-plus-seven data, and a 2.6 rating among adults 18-49. “Kevin Can Wait,” from Sony Pictures Television, is the top new comedy of the season in viewers and the 18-49 demo, averaging 11.3 million and a 2.8 in its Monday timeslot following “The Big Bang Theory.” “MacGyver,” from CBS Television Studios, has been a standout on Fridays, averaging 11.4 million viewers and a 1.9 in the demo, the best of any program for the night.
The CBS series join ABC’s “Designated Survivor” and “Speechless”; Fox’s “Lethal Weapon”; and NBC’s “This Is Us and “The Good Place” among the new series to have had their seasons extended thus far. The Eye will roll out three more new shows — “Pure Genius,” “The Great Indoors,” and “Man With a Plan” — when the schedule changes after the network’s last “Thursday Night Football” game this week.
