Tony Hale on 'About a Boy' Gives 'Arrested Development' Fans a Buster Bluth Fix
we may not be getting more "Arrested Development" on Netflix anytime soon, we can get a taste of someone very Buster Bluth-esque on TV next week.Tony Hale has been busy! We adore him as Gary on HBO's "Veep" (Sundays at 10:30 p.m.), and while
Hale is guest starring on NBC's "About a Boy" (Tuesday, April 29 at 9 p.m.) as Hugh Womple, Marcus's father who has been off researching penguins in Antarctica. (Remember Buster's little run-in with the seal that left him without a hand?)
When Hugh pops into town to see Marcus (Benjamin Stockham), Fiona (Minnie Driver) has a hard time resisting his very unique, very confident, oddly Buster Bluth-like charms.
And now we get to see those charms in action. Watch our exclusive sneak peek to see Hugh Womple strip down for Fiona and Will (David Walton). Remember that Fiona's been on "sexual pause" for most of the past 11 years... but when she admitted that she and Marcus's dad had a very complcated sexual past, we did not picture this:
"About a Boy" airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. on NBC.
Here's NBC's description of the episode, "About a Boy's Dad":
Marcus (Benjamin Stockham) is elated when his father, Hugh Womple (guest star Tony Hale) takes a break from his penguin research in Antarctica to make a surprise visit. While Fiona (Minnie Driver) does her best to mask her tormented attraction, she can’t help but notice how consumed Hugh is with his work and his indifference towards anything Marcus is interested in. At Fiona’s urging, Will (David Walton) steps in and does his best to encourage some much needed father-son bonding. Meanwhile, Sam’s (guest star Adrianne Palicki) demanding work schedule throws a wrench into their plans for romance.
