The Recipe for the Perfect 'Friends'-giving

Other sitcoms gave us classic Christmas episodes or Halloween episodes. But without question, "Friends" cornered the market on Thanksgiving.

Through ten seasons, the "Friends" gang blessed us with a cornucopia of tremendous Turkey Day episodes, each one stuffed with helpful tips on how to enjoy the holiday to the fullest.

So with the big day fast approaching, here's a step-by-step plan for throwing the perfect "Friends"-giving, courtesy of Ross, Rachel, Chandler, Monica, Joey, and Phoebe.

Go out of your way to accommodate your guests' unique dietary requirements.

Do NOT try using synthetic alternatives to traditional Thanksgiving ingredients. Your guests will not appreciate it.

If you get turned down for a date on Thanksgiving, there's probably a good reason.

If one of your guests is a little down, feel free to use what's in the kitchen to make them smile.

You're going to be cramming a lot of food down your throat, so plan ahead, wardrobe-wise. Maternity pants, for example, offer lots of give.

But also, don't be afraid to dress in the latest fashion.

Before dinner is served, go outside for some exercise to get the blood pumping.

Try not to seat guests with long-standing grudges anywhere near each other. This might result in a condescending hair-flip.

Also, do NOT use a family gathering as an excuse to reveal secrets about your siblings. It can lead to serious strife.

If you owe a guest an apology, spending Thanksgiving in a box might help make things right.

Do NOT bring up traumatic Thanksgiving memories from years past. (Or lifetimes past.)

Offer your compliments to the chef… even if they serve a dessert with beef in it.

Last but not least, let your loved ones know how you feel with a heartfelt toast.

Oh, and don't forget Thanksgiving leftovers: turkey sandwiches with a slice of gravy-soaked bread in the middle, otherwise known as…
