Amanda Bynes tweets topless photos of herself, as friends beg for help
Two months after Amanda Bynes' downward spiral began, the big guns have been brought in.
On Wednesday night, the Nickelodeon alum tweeted a photo of herself topless, the latest in a series of bizarre Twitter messages. "Long hair don't care," she wrote alongside the selfie, which showed the 27-year-old former child star seated on her bathroom sink without a shirt on, her hair covering her chest. (The night before, Bynes had posted a photo of herself in a lacy black bra before putting on her makeup.)
Later on Wednesday evening, talk show host Jenny McCarthy announced, "Police are at @AmandaBynes house. I hope they get her help. Enough of this circus. She needs help."
The message followed a tweet by Jonathan Jaxson, Bynes' former publicist (according to Fox News). Earlier on in the night, Jaxson implored the cops to check on her. "I just spoke to@AmandaBynes and she is soooo messed up on drugs and please @NY_POLICE find her and help her! I don't know her address!" he tweeted.
Though Jaxson deleted his subsequent messages, Australia's Junkee website preserved them, and in one tweet he suggests that the police responded after he asked for their help.
"Thanks to the NYPD and all who helped me RT The police are at @AMandaBynes NYC house now," Jaxson wrote.
In the past two months, the "Easy A" star has ramped up her bizarre behaviour. Just last week Bynes shaved half her head, while in early April she was reportedly spotted walking aimlessly around New York on her birthday. She has also posted videos of herself mumbling and tweeted inappropriate messages to Canadian musician Drake.
Despite all this, Bynes denied she was mentally unwell or doing drugs in an interview with In Touch earlier this week.
"The only ones lying about me having a mental illness are people I don't talk to," she said. "Every time I've heard it, it came from an ugly person's mouth, so I don't care."
