Eric Christian Olsen of ‘NCIS: LA’ goes undercover [Exclusive video]

"NCIS: LA" series star Eric Christian Olsen, who plays Detective Marty Deeks, puts his undercover skills to the test as he becomes Dean, a new page at the Paramount Studios Lot, where "NCIS: LA" is filmed. Olsen tries to go unrecognized as he gives tours to unsuspecting visitors.

Yahoo! TV chatted with Olsen about his impromptu prank.

Tell us how this prank came about.
I was standing by the "NCIS: LA" stages with Daniela Ruah [who plays Special Agent Kensi Blye], when one of the tour golf carts drove by with guests. I told Daniela that when I was little, I always wanted to be the tour guide on the Jungle Cruise at Disneyland. The Paramount Lot Tour is potentially the same thing, minus the hippo. And the next thing I knew, I was in a Paramount Page outfit, going undercover as "Dean, the Paramount Page."

How long did you study the Paramount Studios Lot guide book?
Well, the Paramount Pages take about two weeks of classes. I dedicated a solid 60 minutes to the official guidebook, as you can tell by the video.

What are some of the best reactions from people while you did your tour?
About half the people recognized me and thought it was the best tour ever. The rest had no idea who I was and wanted their money back. I also told a group of college students who didn't know who Lucille Ball was, that she actually was one of the stars of Nickelodeon's "Big Time Rush." Their mother just about fell out of the cart, laughing.

Do you know the lot like the back of your hand now?
Surprisingly so! I now know a lot more about the history of the Paramount lot, including my favorite part, "Godfather Alley," where the "Godfather" movies were shot. Dr. Phil now shoots on those stages.

What can we expect for your character on this coming season?
The show is hitting its sweet spot with character development and storylines. There's some great Kensi & Deeks moments coming up, and some great undercover moments for our characters as well. And, there's an upcoming episode where I get actually get to surf.

Any guest stars we can look out for?
I'm really excited about a camel cameo in Episode 2.

What's it like working with the rest of the "NCIS: LA" cast?
There's nothing more amazing than being able to do what you love and with people you care about. Every day, I come home with great new stories about what happened at work with LL, Chris, and the rest of the cast.

The new season of "NCIS: LA" premieres tonight at 9 PM on CBS.
