Meet the New 'Bachelor' ... Juan Pablo Galavis!

Yahoo! TV

Ladies, ABC heard your prayers. On the "Bachelorette" finale, host Chris Harrison announced that the next "Bachelor" would be fan favorite Juan Pablo Galavis.

It turned out to be the 32-year-old former pro soccer player's birthday, too. What a way to celebrate!

"Bachelorette" Desiree Hartsock called Galavis "a dream of a man" and raved about his sexy Spanish accent. Women across Twitter echoed her sentiments:

Juan Pablo was born in New York, and grew up in Venezuela. He played soccer for Roberts Wesleyan college, then for professional teams in Spain and Miami.

Juan Pablo is the franchise's first minority lead, and the second "Bachelor" to be a dad. He's father to 4-year-old Camila, and his daughter is his first priority.

"I had to stop doing something that I loved to do — something that I loved more than soccer," he explained.

But now, the hot soccer dad wants to find that special someone. "Being on 'The Bachelorette' opened up my eyes, and I'm definitely ready to fall in love," he said. "I really want to have that wife and a couple other kids."

Juan Pablo's time on the show was limited, despite making it to the final 6. As Chris Harrison noted on "The Men Tell All" special a few weeks ago, "In the history of this show, no guy has made a greater impact with less screen time."

The live audience screamed loudly when Juan Pablo was announced. Harrison joked, "I don't think you're making it out of here tonight."

"I'll try," Juan Pablo grinned as one woman called "dibs!"

Hold your horses, lady. Casting is still underway, with filming to begin in just a few weeks. But soon, 25 or so women will vie for Juan Pablo's heart (and toned calves).

He's ready! "I'm confident that I will find my future wife and stepmom for Camila."
