Lea Michele is bringing new meaning to the term statement jewelry.
The 26-year-old star proved she's keeping her late boyfriend close to her heart when she tweeted a photo of her latest accessory, a small gold "Finn" necklace. She captioned the close-up with one simple word: "Today."
She posted the snapshot on the social media site on Friday, August 23, presumably as part of her preparation for shooting the Cory Monteith tribute episode of "Glee," which she and the cast were shooting at the time.
The episode, which will be the third of the new season and is slated to air on October 10, will be "a celebration of that character's life," series creator Ryan Murphy has said, explaining that Finn's passing will not directly mirror Monteith's.
Prior to posting this moving picture, the brunette beauty had been seen wearing her traditional "Cory" nameplate necklace several times since his untimely death on July 13, including during her emotional speech at the Teen Choice Awards on August 11.
While time heals all wounds (or so they say), we're fairly certain it will be a while before Lea and the rest of the "Glee" cast truly recovers from this great loss. In the meantime, though, it seems things are looking up for the TV family.
After reading the script for Monteith's tribute, Lea's co-star Jane Lynch tweeted, "Just read Cory Monteith memorial episode. Most beautiful thing. Thank you, @MrRPMurphy @BFalchuk Ian Brennan."
We can only hope that Lea agrees.
The fifth season of "Glee" premieres on September 26 at 9 PM on Fox.
