Early in the Emmys telecast, Neil Patrick Harris was talking during a commercial break, and a guy in the background totally videobombed him. Who was that guy? Was that on purpose?
That guy is "Reno 911's" Paul Greenberg, a writer for this year’s Emmys telecast and, per his friends and admirers, quite the funny man. He's written for Ellen DeGeneres's show, the People's Choice Awards, the Junos, the TV Land Awards, and past Emmy telecasts.
In fact, he has an Emmy of his own: For co-writing the 2009 Tonys.
Fellow comedian Paul F. Tompkins confirmed Greenberg as the mystery sidestepper on his official website.
And in case you're wondering, this Paul Greenberg is not to be confused with the fisherman and essayist of the same name.
