What would we call them? "Baryl"? "Deth" is definitely not a term we want to apply to one of the most beloved characters on "The Walking Dead." But if fan favorite Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) and Hershel's daughter Beth Greene (Emily Kinney) are going to become the zombie drama's newest love match, they're going to need one of those silly shipper nicknames, right?
As we see in an exclusive Yahoo TV photo above, Daryl and Beth are still together in "Inmates," Sunday's new episode of "TWD." When last we saw them in the midseason finale, the duo fled the scene together as their prison sanctuary was destroyed by the Governor and his crew, and their friends and family scattered.
Daryl's holding an arrow in his hand, so we trust he's got his trusty bow in tow to help protect himself and Beth from lurking evils in living and undead forms, but what kind of emotional state will we find them in?
They both loved Hershel, but after losing her mom back on the farm and now watching her father get beheaded, will the once-fragile Beth be up for life on the run again? Will their shared grief and battle for survival turn Daryl and Beth's friendship into a little somethin' somethin' more?
For the record, Reedus told TV Guide Daryl and Beth are "a very unlikely duo. They're getting to know each other on a different level, but not romantically. There are definitely lessons being taught in both directions."
What do you think “TWD” fans … is Reedus telling the truth, or do Carol and Daryl shippers have some competition?
"The Walking Dead" airs Sunday at 9 p.m. on AMC.
