’2 Broke Girls’ Is a Comedy ‘Rizzoli & Isles,’ Producer Says

No, not in the sense that waitresses Max (Kat Dennings) and Caroline (Beth Behrs) work together to solve crimes. In the sense that it has lots to offer lesbian viewers. In an interview on the lesbian blog Autostraddle, "2 Broke Girls" producer Liz Feldman, who happens to be a lesbian herself (and, full disclosure: the dear friend of a dear friend of mine), promises that viewers who enjoy reading lesbian subtext into "R&I" will have the same fun with "Girls": "It's about an unlikely friendship between two very different yet equally attractive girls."

Feldman also comments on the recent announcement of NBC's possible pilot, "My Best Friend Is a Lesbo": "[I]f another writer is lucky and talented enough to sell a lesbian themed pilot, I'm thrilled for them. If the end result is a great lesbian character on TV, we all win. It will happen one of these days, and I hope it's sooner than later." Amen, sister. Hooray for Liz! I will be watching "Girls" tonight, even though, because they're in their uniforms, the cute girls will probably not get to wear that many cute outfits (relevant to MY interests). [Autostraddle]
