'The Walking Dead' Midseason Trailer: 'We'll Never Get Things Back to the Way They Used to Be'
In the 30-second teaser clip, we see an injured Glenn, a sobbing Beth, Tyreese and an exhausted Michonne battling walkers, and a battle-weary Rick looking in the mirror, as Mr. Grimes's voiceover says, "I know we'll never get things back to the way they use to be. It's not going to be easy. But we're not too far gone. We're survivors."
"Too Far Gone" is the title of Dec. 1's midseason finale, and despite Rick's hopeful declaration that he and his friends aren't "too far gone," "TWD" producer Greg Nicotero told Yahoo TV that the final eight episodes of the season will throw new dramas and dangers in the survivors' path.
"The intent really was to open up this world again and to let our characters experience what it's like to have to survive," Nicotero said. "The choices they have to make to survive and as they come upon different situations, how they handle them. The outside world is very, very dangerous, and it can come from anywhere. So the second half of the season really plays up that idea."
In addition to new dangers, the second half of Season 4 will also include new characters from "TWD" comics, including "Southland" alum Michael Cudlitz as Sgt. Abraham Ford; Christian Serratos as Rosita Espinosa; and Josh McDermitt as Dr. Eugene Porter.

"TWD" comics creator Robert Kirkman told Entertainment Weekly the new characters will breathe new life into the series. "I can say that their introduction will be somewhat similar to how they were introduced in the comic, which I think is a very cool thing," Kirkman said. "I'm always pushing for big changes between the comic and the show, but when there is a good, natural process to adapt things directly, we do that from time to time to keep people guessing, so we will see a bit of that in their introduction."
