"Peter Pan Live!" will be flying to NBC later this year.
On the heels of the success of NBC's "Sound of Music Live!" event starring Carrie Underwood last December, NBC's Entertainment Chairman Robert Greenblatt announced at the Television Critics Association press tour that "Peter Pan" will be the next Broadway show to get the live TV holiday special treatment on the network on Dec. 4.
Greenblatt promised "flying children" and lighting technology to give Tinkerbell her spotlight, and Neil Meron and Craig Zadan (of "Sound of Music Live!" and "Smash" fame and infamy) will executive produce. But who will star? Any casting ideas? Greenblatt said, "I want Miey Cyrus," but luckily he was joking.
"Peter Pan Live!" will premiere Dec. 4 on NBC.
