'Nashville' Continues to Spiral Out of Control in Season 2 Sneak Peek [Video]

The dirty South has never looked more fabulously over-the-top than on ABC's Emmy-nominated honky-tonk drama "Nashville." Its freshman season ended with a bang — or a crash, to be more specific — and from the looks of this Season 2 promo, the proverbial pedal is still to the metal.

Not surprisingly, Rayna James (Connie Britton) is in the hospital hooked up to all manner of equipment following her epic car accident, which occurred during an all-out argument with her drunken passenger — and true love gone bad — Deacon Claybourne (Charles Esten). She appears unconscious as her visibly shocked family peers through the hospital-room doors. "Is she gonna die?" Deacon, who pulled her out of the wreckage, asks.

Who's not feeling that bad for Rayna? Endlessly abrasive pop star Juliette Barnes (Hayden Panettiere), who's surely still reeling from her mother's murder-suicide. "Now I have to compete with a saint in a coma?" she asks. (Ouch!) It seems that not even a life-or-death situation will squelch this country competition.

To find out if Rayna makes it out alive — and whose career skyrockets and whose crashes and burns — tune in to the Season 2 premiere of "Nashville" on Wednesday, 9/25 at 10 PM on ABC.
