Blood Pressure Rises With the Dough on ‘Great American Baking Show’

It was bread week on The Great American Baking Show, and everyone’s blood pressure was rising faster than the dough. The contestants struggled to get their dough to rise in time and the pressure of the time limit was causing people to panic.

Contestant Ashlyn Morgan pointed out that waiting for the dough to rise was more stressful than scrambling to get things done: “It’s weird, it’s the first challenge where we’re not scrambling the entire time. So, you just focus on all the things that could go wrong.”

Ashlyn wasn’t the only one panicking. After getting critiqued during the first round, Amanda Faber jokingly said, “I don’t know how much more my heart can take.” And Stephanie Chen couldn’t take waiting for her bread to bake because there were so many things that could go wrong. “With yeast and the temperature, you never know,” she fretted. “I’m really scared.”

In the end, they didn’t really have anything to worry about because nobody was sent home this week.

The Great American Baking Show airs Thursday at 9 p.m. on ABC.
