Beyoncé Can't Beat Naughty by Nature When 'OITNB' Visits ‘Lip Sync Battle’
It was karaoke night in the prison as Orange Is the New Black stars Laverne Cox and Samira Wiley represented their cell blocks on Lip Sync Battle. Laverne started the trash talk early. “I just wanted to say I did not come to play with you, ho,” she shot at Samira.
The ladies started off with a couple of solid performances of Nicki Minaj’s “Roman’s Revenge” by Laverne and Toni Braxton’s “Unbreak My Heart” by Samira. But the second performances were where the OITNB stars really brought it.
Samira crushed her performance of “O.P.P.,” by Naughty by Nature, and while she was doing a fine job lip syncing about other people’s property by herself, it didn’t hurt to have some other people join her. Naughty by Nature joined Samira onstage the end of the song, putting the pressure on Laverne.
It was gonna be tough to beat a Naughty by Nature guest appearance, but Laverne gave it her best shot by channeling a “Naughty Girl.” Laverne put on a super rendition of Beyoncé’s “Lose My Breath,” but it wasn’t enough to win as Samira took home the belt.
