Best ‘Voice’ Performance Ever?
The Top 10 performed their hearts out on The Voice Monday night, but there was one performance that stood out from the rest. Wé McDonald has been surprising people with her amazing voice all season, and on Monday night, the 17-year-old did it again with an incredible performance of Billie Holiday’s “God Bless the Child.”
During rehearsals, her coach, Alicia Keys, wanted Wé to show off her opera training. Wé wasn’t sure about it, though. “If I do this like real opera, it’s going to sound different,” she protested. Alicia replied, “I need to hear it, though. Unleash the opera dragon.”
After Wé’s awesome performance, Alicia summed up what everyone else was thinking when she said, “Oh, my gosh, girl, you are… There’s nobody like you!”
The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on NBC.
