'Bern Your Enthusiasm' Video Turns Bernie Sanders Into Larry David

Hear us out a minute: What if Bernie Sanders’s whole Presidential campaign is just fodder for a new season of Larry David’s beloved HBO series, Curb Your Enthusiasm? A new viral video created by editor Dominick Nero provides plenty of evidence for that interpretation. Using footage from the recent Democratic Party debate, Nero re-edited Sanders’ exchanges into vintage David freak-outs, underscored by the show’s famous theme song, “Frolic,” by Luciano Michelini. Even the reaction shots are classic Curb; Hilary Clinton comes across like the Jeff to Sanders’ David, while gangly Martin O’Malley is the resident Marty Funkhouser.

“Bernie just sounds so much like Larry David,” Nero told The Daily Best about his video’s origins. “He’s just as lovable as everyone’s favorite aging neurotic mad-man. [And] as I dove into this edit, I quickly noticed how silly these debates seem, when a soundtrack is added — it almost does devolve into a chatty Curb episode.” We can only imagine what show he might use as the basis for a re-edit of the next Republican Debate. How about Lost?
