Ben and Kate's Nat Faxon Cast as Wandering Husband in FX Comedy Pilot

Ben and Kate star Nat Faxon has found a new, incredibly understanding TV family.

The actor will play the lead in FX’s untitled comedy pilot from filmmaker Andrew Gurland, our sister site Deadline reports.

The potential series stars Faxon as a married man who is given permission by his wife to get a mistress in order to save their marriage.

Gurland — who penned the Last Exorcism movies — will write and direct the project. He’s also behind the Fox comedy pilot The Gabriels, starring Rob Riggle (NTSF:SD:SUV), Tim Meadows (Saturday Night Live) and Angela Kinsey (The Office).

Meanwhile, Faxon — who is also an Oscar-winning screenwriter for The Descendants (alongside Community‘s Jim Rash) — has a guest spot/potential recurring gig as the boyfriend of Paget Brewster’s character in the ABC comedy pilot Spy.
