Bear Grylls Predicts Yahoo Editors' Chance of Survival on 'The Island'

In the new six-episode NBC series The Island, 14 men are stranded on a deserted island with only the clothes on their backs and minimal tools to see how they survive when there are no rules. They’re also left alone to film the experience themselves.

When executive producer Bear Grylls stopped by Yahoo Studios, we asked him to predict how well three of Yahoo’s editor-in-chiefs — Joe Zee (Style), Kristen Baldwin (TV), and David Pogue (Tech) — would fare on The Island, judging from what they carry with them on a daily basis. Hear why they’re all “screwed” (and what people on The Island really use their underwear for) in the video above.

In the Q&A below, Grylls answers a few of our burning questions about the show: Why is it men only? How do they keep their cameras charged? And do producers really not know what’s happening on The Island until they see the footage?

The Island airs Mondays at 10 p.m. on NBC.
