‘Battlebots’ Preview: It’s Hammer Time
Ladies and gentlemen, it’s robot fighting time! ABC’s summer competition series returns tonight with a two-hour premiere featuring a classic robot showdown: Fight vs. flight. In the preview above, we see fan-favorite Bronco — a “launcher” robot that likes to flip opponents like a pancake — face off against Blacksmith and its bot-crushing hammer.

Though a hammer seems tough to beat (especially when you’re talking about a competition that involves metal objects bashing each other), Blacksmith is actually the underdog going into this fight: Bronco has three wins to its opponent’s one. What’s even more fun than watching the two metal monsters go at it in the clip above is realizing at the end of it that yes, you were just cheering for two fighting robots.
