Bates Motel Season 5: House of Cards Actress Cast as Norma's Doppelganger

Michael Ausiello

Bates Motel viewers will be seeing double when A&E’s Psycho thriller returns with its fifth and final season next year.

TVLine has learned exclusively that Isabelle McNally (House of Cards) is set to recur as Madeleine Loomis, a warm and kindhearted woman who bears a striking resemblance to a young Norma Bates (Vera Farmiga). It’s not clear how exactly Madeleine will figure into Season 5, but her last name suggests she will somehow be connected to the arrival of Rihanna’s Marion Crane. In the original film, Marion’s boyfriend was named Sam Loomis. And, as we reported, Bates Motel is currently casting its own version of Sam.

My guess: Madeleine is Sam’s wife and Marion unwittingly becomes the Other Woman.

As exec producer Carlton Cuse previously teased to TVLine, “We wanted the final season to allow us to do our [spin] of the Psycho lore. We will be colliding with certain events in the narrative of the film, but it would be boring to just recreate Psycho.”

How do you suspect Madeleine will figure into Season 5? Deposit your theories in the comments!
