Aziz Ansari Dramatically Reads Embarrassing First Text Exchanges
On Wednesday’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Aziz Ansari, author of Modern Romance: An Investigation, read some truly painful text exchanges between singles.
One exchange started with “Did you fall from heaven? Because based on your picture, I think you might be an angle.” The recipient replied, “An acute or obtuse one?” Another involved the sender pouring his or her heart out only to receive a one-word response: “No.” As they read the awful exchanges, Ansari and Fallon — sitting in a candlelit studio — used their most seductive voices and flashed their bedroom eyes. So even if these text exchanges didn’t end in romance, at least their senders got to hear them read in a semi-romantic environment.
The Tonight Show airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m. on NBC.
