“How To Get Away With Murder” viewers know that the Shondaland show is killing off one of its own this season, but the mystery remains: who is the unlucky victim underneath the sheet?
If you don’t watch “HTGAWM,” here a quick recap: in a flash-forward scene that will come to a conclusion in the midseason finale, Annalise’s (Viola Davis) house is burning down and she’s standing in front of her home hysterically crying, looking at someone’s dead body on a stretcher under a sheet.
Each episode so far in Season 3 has offered up new clues in the season’s big question — who dies in the night of the house fire? — revealing who is not dead each week. So far, Oliver (Conrad Ricamora) and Bonnie (Liza Weil) are safe.
In last week’s episode, we learned that in addition to the dead body under the sheet, there’s another body in the burning house — but that person still has a pulse when the firefighters find the body in the basement.
Matt McGorry, who plays law student Asher and has a big episode tonight, reveals that the entire cast now officially knows who’s being killed off this season — though the actors weren’t clued in until they had to prep to shoot the telling episode. “We filmed most of the season so far without knowing who it was, which is definitely a difficult thing in some ways,” he tells Variety.
While the cast knows who dies, for viewers, Asher’s fate remains to be seen. McGorry teases, “It could be anyone.”
Suggesting that the person killed off is not a minor character, McGorry quips, “Given Annalise’s reaction, it probably wasn’t Annalise’s barista! She does love coffee, but…”
He adds, “It’s an impactful death. It’s not insignificant. It could be anyone, and it’s something that is really going to heavily impact everyone — and the cast, too. I think it will definitely rock the viewers.”
“How To Get Away With Murder” airs tonight at 10 p.m. on ABC.
